In Belgium, waffles are more of a dessert than a meal. There are street vendors who sell waffles only. Some are dipped in chocolate and served with whipped cream while others have lumps of carmalized sugar baked in them. Our waffles balance perfectly between made-for-breakfast American waffles and deliciously-sweet Belgian waffles. So for breakfast, try them with whipped cream and berries, with all kinds of syrups, or smothered in fresh, seasonal fruit. If there are any left over, save them for snacks or dessert and eat them ungarnished. With so many options, these Belgian waffles are sure to become an all-American favorite.
